A cover for the Decora-style light switch. No AMS needed. See update below for removable magnetic mounting!
Reason for having it on top, instead of replacing the original cover, is that there was not much room to play with around the rocker on the Decora style.
Just finished designing today, and hence the rendering only. Real photo coming soon. If this works well, I'll also design for double and triple switches.
Glue the buttons to the case. Use double-sided tape to mount the rod onto the switch rocker, then mount the case to the original cover with two more pieces of double-sided tape. Lastly, attach the knob to the rod.
Update June 21: Uploaded a new version of the case to allow mounting with 8x round magnets and easier removal.
Update June 22: I removed the threads on the rod to use friction only, making isntallation and removal easier. I also only have 10mm diameter round double-sided tapes (most commonly found), which are tricky to use on 6mm magnets. So I made an additional magnet wall mount.
So, for either option, you will always need:
Button_S × 4, Button_L × 1, Rod × 1, Knob × 1
If you want to use double-sided tapes only, also print:
Case_tape_mount × 1
double-sided tapes
If you want to use magnets for the case and double-sided tapes for the rocker, print:
Case_magnets × 1
magnet holder × 4
magnet_wall_mount × 4
double-sided tapes
8 round magnets (e.g. 6x2mm)
For the magnetic version:
Use double-sided tape to attach the rod to the rocker
Use super glue to stick the magnets to the magnet holders
Attach a round double-sided tape to the back of magnet holder #2 (See image)
Press the case against the original cover, then magnet holder #2 should stay on the original cover, while the case is removable.
Attach the knob to the rod
