This project provides a comprehensive, standardized collection of mechanical testing specimens designed to benchmark and analyze the real-world material properties of your 3D printing filaments. Whether you are testing the tensile strength of PLA, the thermal resistance of PETG, or the impact/flexural limits of ABS/Nylon, this suite offers clean, structurally sound geometries for data collection.

The collection includes four distinct testing geometries, engineered to isolate specific stress and failure modes:

Included Models

  1. Tensile Test Model (Dogbone): Engineered to evaluate axial pull strength, ultimate tensile strength (UTS), and elongation at break along the X-Y or Z axis.

  2. Bending / Flexural Test Model: A standardized beam specimen optimized for 3-point or 4-point bending setups to analyze flexural modulus and inter-layer shear strength.

  3. Compression Test Model: A high-stability block/cylinder geometry designed to evaluate how much crushing force the material can withstand before structural yielding or buckling.

  4. Heat Deflection / Thermal Test Model: A uniform bar designed for heat distortion temperature (HDT) testing to determine the exact point where the material softens under a specific load.
