Overview

This is a custom, compact 3D-printable testbench designed specifically for the Micro PCIe SlimSAS 8654 eGPU setup. It provides a secure, organized, and open-air frame to mount your external graphics card, SlimSAS adapter board, and power supply unit (PSU). Perfect for hardware enthusiasts, small form factor (SFF) tinkerers, and anyone looking to unlock full PCIe x8 speeds on mini PCs like the Lenovo Tiny series without cluttering their desk.

The design focuses on structural rigidity, optimal airflow, and minimal footprint while ensuring your hardware remains safely positioned during intense benchmarking and gaming sessions.

How to Print

To ensure the enclosure can handle the heat and weight of a desktop graphics card and power supply, please follow these print recommendations:

  • Material: ABS or ASA is highly recommended for its excellent temperature resistance and structural strength. PETG can be used as an alternative, but PLA is not recommended due to potential warping from GPU/PSU exhaust heat.

  • Infill: 30% to 40% (Grid, Gyroid, or Honeycomb pattern for maximum structural stability).

  • Walls/Perimeters: 3 to 4 wall lines for strong screw hole retention.

  • Supports: No supports needed—the model is optimized to print clean natively.

  • Adhesion: No brim needed (unless your printer struggles with ABS/ASA warping on the build plate).

Requirements & Hardware

To assemble this eGPU testbench, you will need the following hardware components:

Fasteners & Inserts:
  • 6 x M3 x 5mm (OD) x 5mm (Length) Female Thread Brass Knurled Insert Nuts (for melting into the plastic mount points)

  • 6 x M3 x 8mm Screws / Bolts (to secure the adapter board and GPU bracket)
