I (and everybody I've given one to) love the Nasa Fabric / Hex Mail prints, so I decided to make my own large, fidgety variation. I enjoy just fiddling with it between my fingers, or spinning it around on my fingertip. (If you blow on the edge just right, it can get going pretty fast!)

Prints in <15 minutes with <3g of filament.

After printing, it will be stiff - that's expected. Flex each part gently until they pop apart, a little like bubble wrap.

Should hopefully print well on older printers, and be nice and sturdy, but it's more of a toy and less of a "fabric" than the prints it's based on.

Directly inspired by LobosCNC's "Quick Print HexMaille" - my model is entirely made from scratch by me in Autodesk Fusion, in an attempt to understand and duplicate the really clever techniques LobosCNC used in their design. Definitely go give them a like and a download as well, if you like hexagons as much as I do!
