PCB Ordering

Go to jlcpcb.com and click order now.  At some point you will create an account.  Please read "PCB Ordering" pdf in the download files.  There are also order screenshots in above photos.

The cost for my PCBs was $40 per panel, which is close to the per pixel price of a quality LED strip. If you order more, the price goes down.

The PCB has solid copper power planes.  I recommend specifying the 2oz copper checkbox when uploading and selecting the options.  Also, check the epoxy filled in-pad vias box.

Also select PCBA or PCB Assembly. - top side only assembly.

Printing the Matrix Panels:

The diffuser thickness is 0.55mm, which should be printed in white.

If you print at a 0.2mm layer height, your diffusor will end up being 0.6mm thick( 3 layers)

If you print at 0.25mm layer height,  your diffusor will end up being 0.5mm thick (2 layers)

If you print first layer at 0.25mm then second and 3rd layer at 0.15mm,  your diffusor will end up being 0.55mm thick (3 layers)

I made it 0.55,mm so that we have some control over how thick the diffusor is with simple settings in the slicer.  Now we can all adjust the diffuser thickness.

Due to the grid construction, these panels print very stably, and the finished part is very torsion resistant.  In fact, this is basically what is called a torsion box.

Print all other components at 0.2mm layer height.  Use at least 3 perimeters on connectors and structural components.
