I bought a used scope and it didn't come with caps, so I made these. I had 3mm elastic cord on hand, so that's what I used. I did chase the cord holes with drill bit to loosen them a little.
Make sure you tie the knots so there's a little tension to keep them on there, but not so much you can't get them back off. :)
