That setting is called "Random" seam position in PrusaSlicer (Print Settings → Layers and perimeters → Seam position). Here's the updated version:

Materials

I've only printed this in TPU (95A, 90A, and 85A). BASF 85A gave me the best results. It will probably work fine in PETG or PLA, but I haven't tried it.

Recommended print settings

  • Print slowly

  • Layer height ≤ 0.15 mm to prevent bridges collapsing near the top

  • Set seam position to "Random"

  • Use a 4 mm skirt

  • Dry your filament! With slightly moist Elegoo TPU printed at high speed, I had to cut the skirt off with a scalpel. With fully dried BASF slow print, it peeled off cleanly.

Assembly & use

  • Fill with salt, millet, rice, or similar for weight.

  • I haven't found the best way to seal it yet (heat or glue), but it holds together surprisingly well even without sealing.

Notes

  • I'm not sure how the tolerances will hold up if you scale the model to a different size.
