Current status:

The side-panel is done, i am currently trying to figure out how to best do the front panel.

What this is:

I didn't like how open the sides of my Virtu looked, so i designed these panels to give it a more "complete" appearance, while also continuing the cool line pattern found on the skirt and bay sides.

This quickly turnend into a lengthy struggle of trying to balance looks, ease of assembly and printablility, and the end result probably sits somewhere in the middle of all three.

Some glue and/or plastic-welding is required for assembly. (I used plastic welding for everything but the center panel.)

What you need:

  • ~340g of filament for each side-panel (at 3 walls, 15% gyroid infill, automatic normal snug supports)

  • All parts can be printed on a Virtu E3 with room to spare, or any printer with at minimum a 220x210mm bed. (The largest single piece takes up ~219x206mm space)

  • 12x 6mm M3 Screws and T-Nuts for each side-panel

  • Strong glue compatible with your filament of choice ( ABS or ASA, glued together with thick plastic cement would probably give you the strongest result and the least hassle)

  • alternatively: a soldering iron for plastic welding

The appearance of these panels is based on the line-patterns found on RH3D's  the VIRTU E3:
