Slicer Compatibility
Open the 3MF file in PrusaSlicer 2.9.6 beta (or any later version) that supports ColorMix virtual extruders. This feature is required for the mixed-color virtual filaments.
The model is prepared for multi-filament / multi-tool systems (e.g., Prusa printers with MMU3, Core One, XL, or other five-filament tool changers).
It works on any printer that can handle multi-material printing and ColorMix workflows.
Expect a high number of color changes (especially at finer layer heights), which produces a large wipe/purge tower and longer print times. This is intentional for thorough testing.
ColorMix is also available in Prusa’s EasyPrint (browser-based slicer) for compatible workflows.
Recommended filaments for best results typically include dedicated CMYKW sets (or close equivalents such as cyan/azure, magenta/pink, yellow, plus black and white PLA). Print settings can be adjusted as needed, but start with the provided configuration and fine-tune layer height, purge volumes, and ColorMix ratios based on your hardware.
This remix keeps the spirit of the original calibration cube while giving you significantly more color combinations to evaluate in a single print. Happy mixing!
