Like any other pool, birdbaths can get nasty if you forget to clean them out for even a short period - not to mention the mosquitos. This is a set of jets that clips onto the side of a birdbath, which you can then hook up to a hose timer and have it periodically blast out the old water and replace it with fresh. A minute is long enough, and I have it set to happen in the middle of the night so I don't accidentally blast any wildlife.
Also bees come to drink too, and sometimes they fall in and have a hard time getting out, so I made a little accessory diving board they can climb up to get airborne again (you can see that at about the 10-o'clock position in the photos). It works, I've seen them use it.
When selecting materials to print with, think about where it will be installed (direct sun, shade, etc). It's pretty forgiving as long as it's strong enough that you don't snap off the barbed connector when you're sticking it on the hose. You can mess around tweaking your settings trying to get it perfectly watertight, but since it only runs for a minute every day or two and it's in the garden anyway, I didn't bother. The main channel is triangular in cross section, so there are no big internal overhangs that would need support.
The clips are sized for my bird bath but really anything that will hold it in place will work (wire, waterproof double sided tape, rocks, very patient small children, etc). If you're using my clips or something adapted from them, you may want to tune your horizontal expansion setting to get a good click-on fit. I used this calibration print:
