Camper Van Side Window Ventilation Insert / Grille
A practical side window ventilation insert designed for camper vans Mercedes Vito. It provides fresh air flow while keeping the interior secure and weather-protected. Perfect for overnight camping or parking in warm weather.
Recommended Print Settings
Important: To get the open mesh/grille effect for the airflow section (as seen in the preview/photos), I strongly recommend using the provided 3MF project file (.3mf) or copying the custom layer height settings in PrusaSlicer!
The model uses a Height Range Modifier on specific layers to create the exposed infill pattern (grille):
Height Range Modifier: Applied to the ventilation area (e.g., layers between 9.00 mm – 11.55 mm / 11.60 mm)
Bottom Solid Layers: 0
Top Solid Layers: 0
Perimeters: 3
💡 Material & Printing Recommendations
Material: PETG, ASA, or ABS is strongly recommended for outdoor and automotive use. Standard PLA is not suitable as it may deform under direct sunlight and high interior car temperatures. I tested PETG witch carbon fiber and its stabel after 35° days
Supports: Painted supports applied where necessary.
Infill: 20% for the main body, 30% Grid for the mesh section.
