Why Remix It?

This remix is something I did just to work a bit better for my needs. I pulled it into Solidworks and made some small tweaks.

Changes to Base:

  • Scaled the existing 3in version by 0.95 because I felt there was too much slop.

  • Scaled the existing 3in version by 0.35 to better fit a 1in tablet.

Changes to Cap:

  • Scaled the extings 3in version by 0.95 because I felt there was too much slop.

  • Scaled the existing 3in version by 0.35 to better fit a 1in tablet.

  • Added hex holes on bottom surface to aid in better absorbtion.

  • Added chamfers to windows to reduce bridging distance when printing without supports.

Printing Recommendations:

  • Material: PETG or ASA.

    • If you really want to you could get fancy but those should both be great options.

  • Perimeters: 4-6+

    • This is really where you get "waterproofing" (if there is such a thing) on most 3D prints like this. So I would do a minimum of 4 but more as needed.

  • Supports: None

  • Brim: Depends on your printer. I printed both sizes on my C1+ with no issues on a satin build plate.

  • Infill: I tend to prefer gyroid on this because it helps prevent any warping by breaking up the directions of the internal forces as it cools.
