The "No More Chasing Pieces" Puzzle Sorting Tray 🎯

It started with my Mother-in-Law and a 200-piece puzzle scattered across a table with nowhere to go. The dollar store trays were a joke — pieces tumbling off the edges, no real sorting room, general chaos. So naturally, I went to the CAD file.

I designed this to actually hold a working pile of pieces without feeling cramped.

🟩 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗧 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞

▸ 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 — 9.5" square (240 × 240 mm) gives you real estate for sorting edge pieces, color groups, or just the avalanche of "I'll get to those later" pieces.

▸ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 — The trays nest together so you can organize multiple color groups or pack everything up mid-session without losing progress.

▸ 𝗟𝗶𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗱 — A matching lid prints on the second plate and turns any tray into a closed box, so a sorted pile survives being carried off the table. Same 240 × 240 mm footprint, nests the same way.

▸ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 — My Mother-in-Law has been running these through their paces. They passed the 200-piece test. Yours will too.

🟩 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗨𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗦

Tray and lid are both 240 × 240 × 16.5 mm

▸ Tray: 6h 42m and 155.81 g

▸ Lid: 6h 55m and 157.26 g

▸ Both plates together: 13h 37m and 313 g
