The Environmental Experience Module measures ambient conditions that influence comfort, perception, and overall experience quality within a physical space. By tracking factors such as temperature, humidity, air quality, and atmospheric conditions, the module helps businesses identify environmental patterns that may affect customer dwell, engagement, and operational performance. This is my primary use case.
The system uses the Adafruit ESP32-S2 Reverse TFT Feather, the Adafruit SCD-41 - True CO2 Temperature and Humidity Sensor, the Adafruit BME688 - Temperature, Humidity, Pressure and Gas Sensor, and the Adafruit DS3231 Precision RTC. The device, which acts as a logger (AI-generated code), is powered by a Lithium Ion Polymer Battery - 3.7v 500mAh, and is connected via three STEMMA QT / Qwiic JST SH 4-Pin Cables (2 50mm long and 1 100mm long). The microcontroller and breakout boards are held in place with 2.00mm screws.
The housing is printed in PETG. The housing is also printed without top and bottom layers. The infill is Gyroid. The tolerances between the top and bottom components need to be tight for a secure fit.
