Everything you need to build a "Abt"-Funciular.
To Understand how a funicular works and why the wheels are like they are check out this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funicular#Track_layout
The Model:
Note that the wagons are from lego and not 3D-Printed.
Printing:
Note that, the connection to the other tracks is not as strong as I would wish, thats something, that could be improved.
Editing:
to make editing yourself easier I added the blender file for the switch.
A Video of my funicular and the code I am using to run my funicular, are in the .zip.
Software
Adjustable PWM frequency just for fun
Fully automatic operation, with set top speed.
Smooth acceleration and deceleration
aproximate braking calculation, that the funicular stops at nearly the same spot regardless of the speed.
a calibration mode which helps you to measure the travel speed
The first wagon after goes over the magnet detector which is ignored. When the magnet detector is triggered the second time, the it is time to calculate the time to wait until to brake to stop at the station.
Hardware:
Arduino
two LEDs to indicate the direction of travel
one Pushbutton with a a three color LED, two indicate and change the current travel mode,
a motor control board.
a potentiometer to regulate the max speed
magnets and magnet detectors, to brake the funicular in time in automatic mode.
