After speaking with a beekeeper, I learned about a common issue with this type of queen introduction cage. It is designed to safely hold a queen bee before introducing her into the hive.
The main problem with the existing design is that the plug has to be broken each time the cage is used, making the entire box essentially disposable.
To solve this, I redesigned the cage with a reusable plug, along with a few small improvements aimed at making it more practical, durable, and reusable.
The product is currently under development and being tested in real-world conditions by a beekeeper. Based on this testing and feedback, further changes and improvements may be made to the design.

Printing Recommendations
For best results, the box should be printed using translucent PETG.
PETG is recommended because the box needs to withstand hot-water cleaning to remove wax residue. PLA may soften or deform when exposed to higher temperatures, which could affect the shape and functionality of the box.
A translucent material is also important, as it allows the beekeeper to easily observe the queen and the bees inside without opening the box.
To achieve the highest possible transparency, I will also provide a dedicated .ini print profile with optimized settings for translucent PETG.
