3x5x3 stackable Gridfinity bin for the seven larger Clover crochet hook sizes, specifically these:
6.5mm K: https://clover-usa.com/products/amour-crochet-hook-k
7mm : https://clover-usa.com/products/amour-crochet-hook-7-mm
9mm M/N : https://clover-usa.com/products/amour-crochet-hook-mn
10mm N/P: https://clover-usa.com/products/amour-crochet-hook-np
12mm: https://clover-usa.com/products/amour-crochet-hook-12-mm
15mm P/Q: https://clover-usa.com/products/amour-crochet-hook-pq
I tried to focus on making it as dense as it could be while still being usable. Even with my thicc fingers I can reach in and grab them without issue.
The slots are labeled with mm sizes (rather than no. 0 etc) and embossed to work with multimaterial printing (which I can't do and is untested, but one could?) or for going over with a paint pen for contrast (what I do). The files are included if you'd like to change the labels to something that suits you better.
Files
Upload step and stl exported from that file. I can share the freecad file if it's helpful, they're just annoying to anonymize so I didn't.
Compatibility
My hooks measured roughly this at the widest part of the handle and this long (did not have an 8.0/L handy):
6.5mm = 12.9 x 10.9 (150mm long)
7.0mm = 12.9 x 11.0 (152mm long)
9.0mm = 14.5 x 12.8 (157mm long)
10mm = 14.5 x 13.0 (156mm long)
12mm = 15.3 x 15.0 (161mm long)
15mm = 19.5 x 18.0 (165mm long)
See attached photo for how they fit.
Uses 3x5 gridfinity footprint and a stacking lip. I personally use Clickbase Refined (https://www.printables.com/model/1487592-clickbase-refined-a-no-magnet-latching-gridfinity) rather than magnets, but magnet holes are present.
To use your preferred base, you may want to consider using: https://gridfinity.tools/rebase/
Which seems neat but which I have not used yet.
Pictured printed in Polymaker Panchroma Matte PLA on a Prusa Core One L with a 0.4HF nozzle at .2mm layer height.
AI Use
I made this with the assistance of clankers. I am learning FreeCAD and find it helpful as I work through -- if there are unidiomatic parts of the design or suggestions on improvements I would love to hear it. Some things I struggle with and then ask the robot, and sometimes it tells me the right way and sometimes it's extremely unhelpful.
