🚿 Parametric Towel Rack for Shower Enclosures, Radiators, and More

Are you looking for an easily customizable towel rack that’s versatile? Then you’ve come to the right place.

The towel rack consists of two mirror-image brackets, between which two round rods or tubes are inserted. This creates two sturdy towel rails where you can dry your towels in a space-saving way. 

⚙ Parametric Customization

You can adjust the following dimensions precisely to your needs in Fusion360:

• Diameter of the round rods/tubes used

• Thickness of the mounting surface (e.g., glass thickness of the shower enclosure, etc.)

To adjust the parameters open the fusion file and go to "MODIFY" > "Change Parameters"

Then another window opens where you can adjust both parameters.

🛠 Installation

For the example shown here, I used two aluminum tubes with an outer diameter of 15 mm and mounted the towel rack on a shower enclosure with a thickness of 18.5 mm.

The tubes can be easily inserted into the brackets with a slight twist and are already sufficiently secure. If more stability is needed when using different materials or due to your printer’s tolerances, you can also glue the rods/tubes into the brackets. I simply attached the finished towel rack to the top of my shower enclosure. This way, it can also be removed without leaving any residue.

🛠 Possible Uses

The towel rack is suitable for, among other things:

• Shower enclosures and glass panels

• Radiators (!!! Caution: Choose the appropriate material !!!)

• RV or trailer

• Camping

• Workshop or laundry room

• Rental apartments (can be removed without leaving residue)

• anywhere a custom towel rack is needed

   

  ⚠ Note: When using on radiators, it is essential to use a heat-resistant filament (e.g., PETG or, preferably, ABS/ASA, or similar). PLA can warp at higher temperatures or pose a hazard! Extreme caution is required here! Before use, always check the material’s suitability by referring to the manufacturer’s specifications!

🖨 Printing Notes

• Support structures are not required

• The holders can be printed directly in the left and right versions

• For sufficient stability, I recommend at least 3 walls and an infill of at least 15%
