This is V1 of a 3D-printed TPU pollen intake wheel designed for FTC Team 37060, the Round Eye Pirates, for the BioBuzz season. The wheel is designed to provide reliable grip when intaking pollen into the robot.
The wheel is made from TPU because its flexibility and compressibility allow it to conform to the pollen while maintaining grip. The outer diameter features 10 small rectangular tread sections that provide additional traction without making the wheel overly aggressive.
The wheel has a 52 mm (2.05 in) outside diameter and is 15 mm wide. It uses an 8 mm hex shaft mount and is designed to work with bearings as part of the intake assembly.
This is the first prototype and is currently intended for testing. Future versions may be adjusted based on testing and how well the tread pattern and TPU compression perform during pollen intake.
Designed for the Round Eye Pirates, FTC Team 37060.
