Optimised Gridfinity Storage Box 5x5

Love these storage box designs by Pred but I found that no matter what I did to the print setting the latches left something to be desired. They tend to allow the lid to slip open even with the latch in place. I found that the detents that hold the latch closed line up with the gap between the lid & the body. This means that if the lid is lifted slightly the detent can slip out. There is also a chanfer on the part of the latch that holds the lid down. This allows the lid to push the latch out. With these revisions I can't get the lid to slip open.

Optimized base must be used with gridfinity bins with the lip removed.

  • Added more flexible detents

  • Moved the detents up to interface with the lid better

  • Removed chamfer from the ledge that holds the lid down to prevent the lid slipping open

  • Removed unnecessary features to reduce print time

  • Increased gap for the slots that interface with the body to make it easier to latch

  • Extended latch for easier use

  • Removed grid from the top & bottom of the lid to improve first layer reliability & reduce print time

  • Removed pinch point near the latch

• Base

  • Reduced depth of latch slots so latches stay in the right position for closing on the lid
