Print Calibration Tool

This project started as a quality-of-life improvement for the calibration tools I use regularly. There are already several good tuning tools available, but none of them quite matched the workflow I wanted.

I really like Ellis' calibration tools and highly recommend his Print Tuning Guide. However, I always found some of the tests a little cumbersome to prepare and use. Some also rely on specially generated test patterns, so they don't necessarily represent the exact G-code produced by your slicer.

Later, I found gareth.ky's PrusaSlicer Pressure Advance Test, which I found much more convenient. It works with the actual sliced G-code, but I wasn't a big fan of the line-based test and still wanted the same workflow for other calibration tests.

So I vibe-coded my own PA-tool that combines the parts I liked from both approaches and gradually added additional calibration tools using the same concept.

Try the tool

The calibration tool runs entirely in your browser and is available via GitHub Pages:

Main features

  • Extracts relevant G-code parameters directly from a sliced file

  • Uses the actual output generated by your slicer

  • Efficient testing by simply slicing the provided templates

  • Consistent workflow across the calibration tests I regularly use

  • Designed to make repeated tuning sessions quicker and less tedious

  • Runs locally in your browser without requiring any additional software or installation

Compatibility

I developed and tested the tool with my Prusa CORE One and Voron 2.4 250.

It should also work with many other printers using PrusaSlicer-compatible G-code, Klipper firmware, and a rectangular print bed, but I obviously can't test every possible printer and configuration.

Please keep an eye on your printer during the first tests and make sure the generated movements, temperatures, and other parameters are appropriate for your machine. Use the tool at your own risk.

Reading the results

I may add some additional information here about interpreting the calibration prints.

For the actual tuning process, however, I strongly recommend Ellis' excellent documentation. His guide already explains the theory and interpretation of the results in much more detail than I could reasonably reproduce here:
