The ROUTINE Clock — A Modular Clock for Time, Learning & Everyday Life

Updated files: 8.31.2026

The Routine Clock combines a clean, geometric design with interchangeable tiles that let you customize the clock to fit your life. Whether you're looking for a minimalist desk clock, a fun learning tool, or a visual routine helper for your kids, this project gives you the flexibility to make it your own.

Fully Modular Design

The clock is made up of four main components:

• 🏠 Main body — the arched, tombstone-inspired housing

• 🟢 Clock face — the recessed circular face

• 🔧 Back cover — encloses and secures the clock mechanism

• 🔢 Interchangeable tiles — round markers that snap/fit into the clock face

A Clock That Helps Kids Learn Their Routine

Here's where the clock gets really fun. I've also designed a collection of custom routine tiles featuring simple icons for everyday activities, including things like:

🍳 Breakfast
🚌 Bus / School
🍽 Dinner
🎮 Play
…and more!

Instead of simply telling a child "It's time to get ready," the clock can give them a visual cue they can understand.

Designed With 3D Printing in Mind

I intentionally kept the digits and icons as separate bodies from the tiles.

That means you can easily assign different filament colors directly in your slicer without having to modify the model. Print the tile in one color, the number/icon in another, and create a clean two-color result with minimal fuss. It also opens up a ton of customization possibilities. Mix and match colors, create seasonal tiles, make your own icons, or design completely new tiles for your own routines.
