Turn cheap, standard popsicle sticks into rigid structural models, geodesic domes, and prototyping frames.
Most 3D-printed stick connectors fail because commercial wooden sticks have terrible dimensional tolerances. This system uses compliant flex-fit slots that grip sticks varying between 1.8 mm and 2.2 mm without splitting the wood or delaminating the print.
Key Engineering Features:
No Supports Required: Optimized geometry (chamfers and overhangs $\le 45^\circ$) for fast batch printing.
Tolerant Grip: Flexible inner tabs compensate for irregular stick thickness.
Low Filament Cost: High strength-to-weight ratio; print a full 50-node kit in under 3 hours using less than 80g of PLA.
Modular Geometry: Nodes for 90°, 60°/120° (triangles/hexagons), 45°, and 3D corner brackets (cubes and trusses).
Recommended Print Settings:
Material: PLA / PETG (PETG recommended for prolonged outdoor use or higher flex fatigue).
Layer Height: 0.20 mm or 0.28 mm (Draft).
Perimeters/Walls: 3 (rigidity comes from perimeters, not infill).
Infill: 15% – 20% (Gyroid or Grid).
Standard Stick Dimensions Used:
Designed around standard craft sticks: 114 mm × 10 mm × 2 mm (4.5" × 3/8").
