Assassin's teapot, or Inexhaustible bottle, allows you to pour two different liquids from a seemingly regular container.

This trick relies on the fact that water can't leave the teapot when there is no way for air to come in. Cover one hole and the liquid will only pour out of the other section. Cover both and nothing comes out. For this 3D model specifically, there are two little holes on the inside of the handle, making it invisible to the audience to see unless they look very closely.

You can read more about it on Wikipedia, or watch Steve Mould's video.

Printing

  • Set up variable layer height (top of the handle, the lid).

  • Paint supports on the handle and the spout.

  • Use at least three perimeter layers.

Both PLA (blue) and PETG (gold) worked fine. In total, this model required 160g of filament, taking about 7:40 to print.

Why

I am a forever beginner at modelling, but for the 2026 September designer challenge I thought the topic was something I could pull off, if I kept myself humble.

Shaped after the CC0 STL file hosted on Wikimedia, however I have remade the whole model myself.
