Slide & Split – The Impossible Slicing Magic Trick

this is a really cool magic trick, you put your rod in the sliders (whole) then you slide the slider, and your rod magically separates into three different rods! it works by magnets holding the rods together, these are the magnets i used -> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CCXHY9P8 <- they work good, they will fit the holes provided. you will notice the holes on each side arent the same size, I made them like that for concealment purposes. this is a no ams printer freindly. If you look through the photos, there are in order, that is the way you fool your audience.

STEPS to fool your audience (These are the written steps.) #1. slide you pieces and separate your rods to make sure your audience knows nothing is wrong (photo 1) #2 make the slider all straight, and connect your rod (photo 2) #3 slide your rod in (photo #3) then sldie it in al the way (photo #4) next hold you thumb on the bottom of the slider, and hold you middle finger on the top of the slider, push your thumb up on the left, and push your middle finger down (while pushing with your thumb) {sorry it doesn't have a photo I couldn't make it look right} then the product is photo #5 and then do it back wards (#5-#4-#3-#2-#1) 

Why it works?

It works by have a north magnet and a south magent, these magents are nice so they have north on one side and south on the other side.

Parts list

6 of the listed magents, a little bit of glue, (I used hot glue) 20-80 grams of fillament {for the slider} (depending on what infill % you chose) then another 10 grams of fillament (for the rods) your 3d printer (or your friends 😉) then thats it, print it then assemble it, you can you some paint if you want, I just didnt just to show the magnets to you guys so you can see where it needs to go.

Assembly

there is not alot of assembly need for this, all you have to do is glue the magnets (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CCXHY9P8) into the holes I used hot glue (because it works really good) 

Print settings

 SUPPORTS  I only used supports for the rods because the slider has a thing on the inside that if you use supports it will weld and not slide. (if you use cura slicer do normal supports not tree)

BUILD PLATE ADHESION I used rafts for both but I would highly recommend using rafts, becuase brims dont ever work (well for me that is) and its more stable

PRINT SPEED   I put mine on  FAST (0.2mm) ~aka250mm/s~  which works really good

TOLERANCES you dont have to worry so much about this, it works fine so leave it the way it is

JERK CONTROL I use cura slicer and if you guys use cura slicer and havent used jerk control, its a lifesaver just click the drop down menu > scroll down to custom settings > click custom settings > then search up "Jerk Control" > enable it, and leave all the settings for jerk control at default.

INFILL  I used %15 infill with the grid infill, you can use what ever infill you want heres the equation for the infill thing, HIGHER %# = STRONGER LOWER %# = WEAKER.

MATERIAL I used elegoo black pla and elegoo rapid orange pla (sorry I cant find the links, its on amazon though)

WALLS  wall thickness = 0.84mm, wall line count = 2, horizontal expansions = 0.0 mm

LAYER HEIGHT  0.2mm

COOLING fan speed = %100

TRAVEL  enable retraction (ENABLED)  z hop when retracted (DISABLED)
