🤖🐝 Transformers – Bumblebee – Figure

Bring one of the most iconic transforming robots to your 3D printer with this detailed Bumblebee figure!

This model features Bumblebee's unmistakable appearance with his yellow armor, exposed mechanical components, vehicle-inspired body panels and powerful robotic proportions. I wanted to capture the combination of machine, vehicle and character that makes Bumblebee such a recognizable and beloved design. ⚙🔥

With lots of mechanical details throughout the body, this model makes a great display piece for sci-fi, robot and Transformers fans. It can look fantastic on a shelf, desk, gaming setup, workshop or as part of a larger figure collection.

🎨 Multicolor or Paint It Yourself

There are different ways to bring this model to life.

If your printer supports multicolor printing, you can print Bumblebee directly in his characteristic colors for an impressive finished display piece. 🟡⚫

Alternatively, you can print the entire model in white filament and paint it yourself afterward. This is a great option if you enjoy miniature or model painting and want to add your own details, weathering, metallic effects, shadows and highlights. 🎨🖌

Of course, you can also print it in a single color and simply enjoy the geometry and mechanical details of the model.

🖨 Recommended Print Settings

My recommended starting settings are:

• Layer height: 0.20 mm
• Walls: 3
• Infill: 15%
• Supports: Tree Supports
• Material: PLA / PLA+ recommended
• Brim: Optional, depending on size and bed adhesion

Because this figure contains many detailed mechanical parts, overhangs and complex shapes, tree supports are recommended. They can reach difficult areas while generally reducing unnecessary contact with the visible surfaces of the model.

For maximum detail, you can reduce the layer height to 0.16 mm or 0.12 mm, especially when printing the model at a larger scale.

You can also scale the model to your preferred size. Keep in mind that very small prints may lose some of the finer mechanical details, while larger prints will make those details much more visible.

Print settings may need to be adjusted depending on your printer, nozzle size, filament, model scale and personal preferences.

🎨 Painting Tip

When printing in white for painting, a primer can help create a smooth and consistent surface before applying acrylic paints. Metallic paints and subtle weathering can work especially well on the exposed mechanical components. ⚙🖌

This is also a great model to experiment with different interpretations — from a clean showroom-style Bumblebee to a heavily weathered, battle-worn version.

If you print or paint him, I would absolutely love to see your make! ❤

Happy printing and have fun bringing Bumblebee to life! 🤖🐝⚙🔥
