This is a large 12x16 frame I made for a particular art project that will be sandwiched between plexiglass and lit up with RGB LED lighting. I've posted a picture of the finished piece. Unfortunately; I had to downsize the picture a lot. This art piece is called Filter Sweeps - Resonator Foil. It can be found here https://twoselvesgallery.com/collections/mike-milota
I used the Tinkercad codeblocks from the Drink Coaster Edge-lit Display to make the frame. The frame edge thickness is about 1.25 inches and the depth I needed on the inside of the frame was 14mm. This piece has thicker layers of plexi on the back and front and a thin layer of plexi between each layer of the art piece. Total thickness was 14mm.
I couldn't make the frame the actual size I needed so I took the Tinkercad model and stretched it out using another 3D modeling program to the height and width so it would fit a 12x16 piece. I had to cut the frame so it would fit on the printer and I made joining pieces so that when it was glued back together it would have more strength. I also added screw holes to the model to screw the two halves of the frame together.
The "tenon connectors" have to be sized so they fit. I posted the settings I used in a .txt file which turned out to have a little too big of a gap on the ends. I recommend making it a little tighter.
I printed with Duramic PLA+ and for gluing I used SCIGRIP 16 acrylic glue which for a large piece like this is much better than super glue.

Filament: Duramic PLA+ PETG, ABS, Nylon, PP, PLA+ Black
Notes:
I used Cura 4.12 for slicing with CHEP profiles. Recommend using at least 4-5 walls and 4-5 lower and upper layers. I tried printing flat on the bed, but I was having some issues with my printer so I put it on edge and printed it upright on my smaller printer. Either way will work, but if you have a smaller printer you will have to set it upright. I used either cubic or cubic subdivision I think at 40%, but with gradual infill steps of 2.
Post-Processing
Since I was having some printer issues it printed kind of rough. I ended up sanding the whole thing and painting it. This also helped to hide the glue joints. I didn't sand them perfectly, but it worked out pretty well.
