Binary Mind Reader - Inclusive Magic Trick Kit | Customizable Braille + Snap-Lock Box

This is a classic Binary Magic Trick turned into an inclusive, educational STEM kit. Ask someone to think of a number 1-63, show them 6 cards, and you will magically reveal their number. No electronics, no magnets - just pure binary math.

How The Trick Works - The Secret

Each card represents a power of 2: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32.
If your number appears on a card, you add that card's value.
Example: Number 45 appears on cards 1 + 8 + 32 + 4 = 45!

Kids learn binary without knowing they are learning it.

Why This Version Is Different - Inclusive Design

I designed this for the contest theme "playful, surprising, and fun for children" with accessibility:

1. BOTH Mode: Front = embossed BRAILLE, Back = TEXT (mirrored). Sighted and blind kids can play together.
2. Angular Start Marker: L-shaped tactile rail at top-left + corner dot - blind users instantly know where to start reading.
3. Unified Max Grid: Plate size is measured from both font grid AND braille grid and takes the max - so nothing ever cuts, even at font_size=4.5.
4. Gap = Ratio of Font Size: effective_padding = font_size * cell_gap_ratio - when you make text smaller, gaps shrink automatically. Fully variable-driven, no magic numbers.

Open the Customizer tab:

• Content Mode: TEXT / BRAILLE / BOTH

• Cards to Print: 6 checkboxes - print only the cards you need [0,1,2,3,4,5]

• Font Size: 4.5mm to 20mm - plate resizes automatically

• Gap Ratios: cell_gap_ratio_x/y and braille_gap_ratio_x/y - tune spacing

• Snap Lock: 0.4mm bump + 0.6mm dimple - satisfying click, no glue

Box is always sized for 6 cards: Length & Width auto-adjust to max grid, Height = 6 * (card_thickness + braille_protrusion).

🖨 Printing Instructions

• Material: PLA, 0.2mm layer height

• No supports, no brim

• Cards: Print face down for crisp text. 3mm thick for durability.

• Box + Lid: Print as oriented. Snap-lock prints clean at 0.4mm protrusion.

• Quantity: 6 cards + 1 box + 1 lid = complete kit

🎩 Performance Tips

1. Fan out cards, ask: "Is your number on this card?"

2. Keep the cards where they said YES

3. Add the top-left values of YES cards (1,2,4,8,16,32)

4. Reveal!
