This model is a miniature version of a Nuclear Magnetic Spectrometer magnet. These devices are used in chemistry research for analyzing the composition of samples, among others, but are very similar in working principle to MRI machines that are more well known to the broader audience. In fact, the device depicted in this model can also be used for MRI if a specialized probe is used, but in contrast to the familiar clinical MRI's, it can only image a very small sample, albeit with a much higher resolution.

This model is meant to help explain the workings behind NMR spectroscopy and the hardware needed for it. This print has the following components:
-shell of the NMR magnet
-helium vat that normally contains the electromagnet
-nitrogen vat that helps cooling the helium
-the transceiver probe.

In the pictures included, copper wire was used to make mini versions of the electromagnet and the rf-coil in the transceiver probe. The vats are filled with coloured liquid to represent the liquid helium and liquid nitrogen in these machines
