This is a demonstration model to show that the linear increase in spring force does not correlate to a linear increase in launch torque. Instead the launch torque will have a logarithmic behavior as the angle of the spring force increases.
Printing
It is recommended to use supports on the hooks on the arm and frames as well as the slit in the pivot.
The pins should be printed to be durable. One of them is used to stop the arm.
Settings I used:
- 40% infill
- 3 perimeters
- 0.15 layer height
- PLA
Assembly
I did not need to glue anything. It should press fit together.
- Press fit the 3 pins into one of the frame pieces.
- Press the other frame onto the pins. Leave enough room for the pivot to slide between the frame pieces.
- Slide the tray onto the arm.
- Slide the arm into the pivot's slit.
- Insert the arm assembly into the frame aligning the pivot with the circular cutouts in the frame.
- Press the frame together to trap the pivot. The arm assembly should move freely.
