ZipSnap rails are a quick and easy way to connect one whatever to another. They slide into place, snap once fully inserted, and are able to be locked by slotting filament into the holes on the top. They have been stress tested, and last for at least 150 insertions with PLA matte. All it requires is some CA glue (super glue) to connect it to the part, and you're good to go!
Print Guide
Print the rail parts so that they stand on end. The upper part needs to be printed so that the clips aren't floating
Add a significant brim to reduce errors on higher layer hights
For extra security on a bed slinger, orient the long way so that it vibrates less when the print bed is moved
Use Guide
When making parts to utilize ZipSnap, make sure to extend the holes from the rail into whatever part they connect to. This helps stiffen the part even more than just having the filament connect the upper and lower of the rail
Another important detail is to make sure that the rail has enough space to be slid into place without being impeded
While ZipSnap can be slid both ways, it does prefer for the top to be slid down onto the bottom and then back out the same way
When making the mounts for the rail pieces, include the cutouts on the opposite sides so that it can only be glued on one way. This helps the rail to be used in its preferred direction
I have added .f3z files for modifications and easier use, but be warned, my timeline optimization is less than subpar :)
