This is a replacement gear for the Singer Cam Stack assembly part number 445754. The OEM part is priced around $50-60 USD and fails after a while due to cracking.
This replaces the injection molded gear on the cam shaft and is press fit on.
The OEM gear cracks with age and prolonged use. This was designed to revive an old sewing machine without spending too much money.
I have not experienced a failure yet with this gear, but I'd expect the gear to slip instead of cracking like the original ones do over time.
