I have a prescription I take around lunchtime and I have been using the original model for several weeks to carry my daily dose to work. The original model works well but I am one of those people who can't just leave well enough alone so I made some improvements. This version has more internal space for the equivalent scale size, has a functional watertight seal incorporated into the lid, and I changed the lid shape to fit a standard keyring better.
I recommend PETG, PCTG, or PA for the best water resistant seal, PLA variants may be too rigid to form a reliable seal. Filament calibration, moisture level and print process tuning can also significantly affect the seal. If a 100% waterproof container is critical to your application I recommend a proven commercial solution rather than a 3d print.
The threads are intended to fit snugly. Print with variable layer height so the threads are as smooth as possible. 2-3 walls and 20% infill works well. An initial fit that is just a little bit too tight is ideal, work the cap on and off repeatedly to break in the threads and you should end up with a smooth but tight fitting lid. If the threads do not start to break in after working them for a few minutes, print the next higher clearance lid.
The model can be scaled both in height and width to suit your needs, wether you only need to carry a single pill or if you want to carry a bottle of ibuprofen on your keychain, just be sure to scale the body and lid exactly the same.
Thanks for looking, and happy printing!
