Your arm rests, but your hand can still move. GlideRail is a padded cart that rolls along a track in front of your MX Mechanical. Your palm or forearm rests on the pad, so your shoulder doesn't have to hold your arm up, and you can still reach every key from Esc to the numpad with a gentle push.

Who it helps: people with shoulder or arm weakness, fatigue or pain, for example from muscular dystrophy, ALS, MS, stroke, spinal cord injury, arthritis or chronic shoulder pain. Use one cart or two (one per hand).

How it attaches: the keyboard just sits in a low 3-piece dock. There are no clips, screws or glue, and nothing on the keyboard is changed. The cart is locked into the track, so it can't tip over or be knocked off.

What to print: 3 dock tiles, 1 cart and 4 dowels per hand, and a palm pad (TPU, or PLA with foam on top). A forearm cradle is included as an alternative pad. Everything fits a 220 × 220 mm bed and prints without supports.

Hardware per cart: 4 - 623ZZ bearings and 4 - M3 × 10 screws. No bearings? Print the included wheels instead; then you only need the screws.

Assembly (about 10 minutes): slide the dock tiles together, screw the bearings(or printed wheels) into the cart, press the pad on using the dowels(may need to glue dowels into pad), set the keyboard in the dock, and drop the cart into the track at the right-hand end.

The parametric OpenSCAD source and STEP files are included, so you can adjust pad height, size and fit for each person. The design is based on Logitech's official MX Mechanical CAD file.
