Hi, this is 3D Oberarzt with another 3D model.
This is a human liver with a galbladder and branches of both portal and hepatic veins attached to the inferior vena cava, that continues down to the stand. It is based on a real human CECT ( Contrast Enhanced CT)- publicly available as volume No. 164 in the Hepatic Vessel Map Dataset ( published in Scientific Data). The liver is slightly enlarged (1.25 : 1) to make it easier for printing and removing the supports. Talking about them, it was necessary to add a bunch of custom supports- otherwise the long, almost vertically running branches of hepatic veins could not be printed ( they break off the automatically generated supports and the print is ruined, at least when using MK4s printers).
Although it is not that hard to print ( the hepatic vasculature is nowhere near as complex and difficult as pulmonary vasculature) it is still far from a beginners model.
It fits the Mk4/3 print volume. If you are using a bedslinger printer, I recommend slowing down your acceleration and print speeds.
Organic supports are the best option, breaking off the grid or snug ones is virtualy impossible ( these are only good if you are using soluble supports).
Happy printing!
