This is a mechanical model of an emoji. It has a hand-turned lever to move its hands up and down.

This is 3d-printable without supports or multi-color capabilities.

I made this model because as a member of Hack Club Slack I use this emoji a lot so I wanted to make a real mechanical version of it.

Printing Instructions:

Print each part as shown below.

The pin and grip are supposed to be print-in-place. (You can print them with the same color they have different colors here for better visibility).

Assembly:

  • Fix hands on to both arms

  • Slide in both arms in their pivots

  • Put the gears in their slots

  • Place the levers, one end on the arm slot and one end on the gear. Placing the levers in opposite slots to each other is a feature to convert this emoji into the 67 version.

  • Insert the shaft inside the drive gear

  • Place the lid and press slightly until it snaps in place

  • Insert the pin and grip in the handle, and fix the handle onto the shaft

  • Snap fit all of the facial features into their respective slots
