Introduction

My goal was to design this pick holder it in a way that it securely attaches to most microphone stand (and any other stand using round profiles) and can hold most types of guitar picks.

The design is parametric, so that you can adjust the dimensions to the diameter of your microphone stand and to the number of picks that you want to attach.

The pick holder can also serve as cable clamp, to fix the microphone cable along the stand.

The design was done completely in FreeCAD. I included the project file, so that you can tinker with it.

Choose your holder

I included several .3mf versions of the holder, in case that you have no possibility to change the parameters for yourself. The number in the file name corresponds to the diameter of the stand in millimetres.

The length can be adjusted by scaling the model along the z-axis in your slicer.

How to Print

The model is very easy to print. No supports are necessary.

I printed the model you can see in the pictures on a Prusa MK3S+ in Prusament PETG (Chalky Blue) with a layer height of 0.2mm.

Parametrize

I have included the STEP file as well as my FreeCAD design file. Feel free to modify the holder as you please.

If you want to adapt the model to your specific strap. Just follow these steps:

  1. Download the mic_stand_pick_holder.fcstd file.

  2. Open the file in FreeCAD.

  3. In Model panel, click on VarSet.

  4. Change the variables in the data panel

If you have questions, remarks, suggestions, I would be happy to hear from you.
