Intro

I had a bunch of v-slots wheels laying around from a old printer, since every wheel have two bearings it was a nice oportunity to use it in a new project.

Spool Holder

1. Printing Congigurations and parts

Slicer configs

Use 0.2 mm resolution, and 15% infill, at least 3 walls.

Printed parts
  • Four bearings_inside

  • Fous bearings_outside

  • Two left_side

  • Two right_side

2. Assembly

Hardware list
  • Four M3x16mm screw

  • Four M3 inserts

  • Four 625Z bearings (you have to cut off the plastc shell)

bearing_outside & bearing_inside

This piece have a very tight fit, to make it fit warm the printing bed at 60ºC to warm it up and push the bearing inside.

Does not warm this one, since it is very little it may bend. I also recommend you to print one piece and test the tolerance and scale it up or down acordanly with your needs.

left_side & right_side

Put the brass inserts in the left_side part and put it together using M3 screws

Rail system

The rail system is made to attach the spool holders and the sensor moutn to the top of a Ender 3 V3 SE. It may be compateble with Ender 3 V3 KE if the screw hole on the rail part match with the screw holes in the printer.

1. Printing Congigurations and parts

Use 0.2 mm resolution, and 15% infill, at least 5 walls and 5 bottom and top layers, for extra strength (probably a overkill, but better safe than sorry)

Printed parts
  • One rail

  • Two rail_attachment

  • Two rail_end (optional)

2. Assembly

Hardware list
  • Eight M3x6mm screw (10 if you print the rail_end)

  • Eight M3 brass inserts (10 if you print the rail_end)

  • Two stock screw from the original spool holder

Join together the spool holder with the rail_attachment using the brass inserts and M3 screws.

Put the rail on top of the printer using the stock screws and slide the the spool holder + rail_attachment

Screw the rail_end on the sides

Sensor Mount

1. Printing Congigurations and parts

Use 0.2 mm resolution and 15% infill.

Hardware list
  • original mount for the sensor

  • One M3x6mm screw
