It is a truth universally acknowledged that everybody with an interest in 3D printing must, at some point, design their own print in place chain.

This one is bestagonal in section (of course), the links are about 24 mm × 16 mm and are somewhat chunky at a little more than 4 mm thick.

The thickness should make the contact area just big enough to adhere to the plate; if you're having issues removing the elephant foot compensation may be enough to help.

The files include a short length of 12 links, a round bracelet of 32 links (to be worn doubled up) and a longer necklace of 48 links.

To use the connector, print two and join them with two short pieces of filament. Optionally add glue or heat-seal the ends together.

There are also two simple hooks

The painted pieces have been printed in black PLA, painted with metallic antracite acrylic and then drybrushed with red ocher.

Openscad sources for the models are in git and can be customized for any even number of links (note that the round one only works for 20 links or more, below that the links are too close to each other and will fuse together — the picture of the small circle is an example of what happens when doing so, that model is not among the downloadable ones).
