🐾 Airedale Terrier
The Airedale Terrier is a large, intelligent, and versatile terrier that originated in the valley of the River Aire in Yorkshire, England, in the mid-1800s. It was bred by working people to hunt otters and rats along the riverbanks, combining terrier tenacity with strength and swimming ability.
As the largest of all terriers, the Airedale is proudly known as the 'King of Terriers'. Today, it is admired as a loyal family companion, a capable working dog, and a confident all-rounder.
🐶 Appearance & Personality
Coat: Hard, dense, and wiry with a softer undercoat. Tan in colour with a black or grizzle saddle across the back.
Build: Tall, muscular, and well balanced, with long straight legs and a strong, level back.

Face: A long, flat head with a strong muzzle, a neat beard, small dark eyes, and folded V-shaped ears.

Temperament: Airedales are clever, brave, and friendly, with a playful sense of humour. They can be independent thinkers, but they are devoted and protective of their families.
🎾 Activity & Companionship
Airedale Terriers need plenty of daily exercise, including long walks, runs, and active play.
They love swimming, fetching, hiking, and dog sports such as agility, tracking, and obedience.
They make affectionate family dogs and usually enjoy the company of energetic children.
Early socialisation and consistent, positive training help channel their intelligence and independent spirit.
