The Outback Explorer L7 is a rugged, multifunctional camping lantern designed for outdoor adventures. Combining practical features with a distinctive industrial design, it offers:
360° LED illumination with diffused light panels
High-power LED torch with reflector lens
Built-in compass for navigation
USB-A and USB-C ports for charging devices
Four-LED battery level indicator
Rechargeable battery system powered by two 18650 batteries
Foldable carrying handle for easy portability
The lantern is 3D printed in PETG using supports for complex sections. The components are assembled using M3 screws, with M3 nuts embedded in the main body at the base and at the base of the top hood to provide secure fastening. As I don't have a multicolour 3D printer, the contrasting yellow decals and decorative details are printed separately and glued into position. All electronics sourced online from far east costing less than 10 pound sterling.
The result is a functional, custom-built outdoor lantern combining 3D printing, electronics and practical design.
