These knitting needles are inspired by the cubical shaped needles. Based on this idea, these needles have a 10 sides polygon or Decaon shape. This enables a perfect print on a flat print bed while giving a good egonomic feel and ensuring the yarn glides smoothly along the needle without catching.
After printing, visually they look round and the yarn glides well along the needle.
Print settings:
Layer height: 0.2 mm
Support: overang threshold 36 degrees
I have used PETG with 15 % infill, this makes the needles quite flexible which i like. For a more rigid feel, you can increase the infill percentage and/or use PLA.
Positioning the needles diagonally on the print bed allows them to fit on almost any printer.
I am always happy to see a picture of a successful print, so please share if possible!
