Having received several bags of 2L bottles to turn into 3D printer filament but not looking forward to risking my skin on sketchy cuts, I set about creating a better way to cut the bottoms off the bottles. This is my first working prototype, but flaws remain. It only works with the knife shown, and even then the tolerance is wrong. It's not deep enough for some bottles. The thread tolerance is horrible--it took an hour of work to get it screwed together. I had to drill a couple peep holes. It only works for 2-liter bottles. But it works great!

The original Fusion 360 source files are available with the hope that someone will improve the design. https://a360.co/3NPh3S0

I don't recommend printing this until the threads are fixed.

Optimized supports are built into the model, so print without supports. Just snap off the overhang supports and drill or punch through the bridge supports that are in the screw holes.
