This is a rail guide which fits into the feeder assembly of the TVM802(a/b) models.
The purpose is to keep the tape down to prevent the ‘prick’ from sticking (common with paper tape) or ripping apart the tape (common with plastic tapes). With this modification I am now able to pick and place 0603 parts from both plastic and paper tapes with almost no issues.
Print instructions: PLA or PETG, 0.1mm layer height (to take into account the 0.5mm washer). Enable ironing to get smooth surfaces for less friction with paper tapes.
After printing the part will likely need some cleanup with an x-acto knife. Make sure that the tape cleanly moves through the inside channel. Usually the sides of the channel have some extra plastic which needs to be cleaned out.
When mounting it on the machine make sure that the M3, 0.5mm thick washer sits under the rail guide, not above.
WARNING: Make sure that you check clearances before you mount the rail guide(s). Specifically the back stack might need adjustment to make sure that the ‘prick’ does not hit the rail guide when feeding. If you forget this step you can potentially destroy/bend the 'prick' or misalign the head. I am not responsible for any damages to your machine…
