The examples shown here were printed with two walls and three top/bottom layers. Given the unique geometries of this artifact, we recommend using the "Make Overhang Printable" option if you are slicing with Cura. This will minimize the amount of support structure needed. You might also consider using "support blockers" to vary support settings throughout the print.
How I Designed This
Design Notes
The overall ascetic of this artifact was inspired by Archimedes' "Golden Spiral". The exterior geometry was articulated in Structure Synth (structuresynth.sourceforge.net), and further refined in Blender (www.blender.org).
