In designing this coaster for the coaster competition I focused on the intent that the coaster should “consider how to collect and manage the water that is rolling off the side of the glass being held.”

In this vein, I designed the coaster with sufficient depth to collect a decent volume of water and a spout at the top of the ‘raindrop’ to allow the water to be used after you've finished your drink, say, by being poured on a plant.

The coaster also has groves in the bottom of the coaster to reduce contact area with the table in the event of a spill.

The coaster is 80mm wide at the widest part of the raindrop - it will scale up well for larger glasses if required, but I would not recommend scaling down, as you are likely to lose the inner wall.

The step file is provided for remixing if desired.
