A co-worker told me he bought a lamp at Target and 3 of the 5 shades broke in an accident. Printing the beveled opening in a high resolution like 0.07mm means there's no stair step effect. I used the Prusa Slic3r new feature for variable layer heights so I could print most of the shade in 0.2mm layers and the beveled edge in a finer resolution. It came out perfectly.
How I Designed This
I simply measured the part with an old wooden ruler. This was modeled in FreeCAD. Feel free to contact me if you want the files for that.
