As with many things I make, there was a problem I wanted to solve. We have a little pantry in the kitchen where we store our strategic supply of cookies. The main issue was that it's too easy for my wife or me to get a cookie when we were not supposed to and to remain undetected. So I started thinking of a solution and remembered the old legend “The cackling of geese saved Rome”. One thing led to another and I built a battery powered duck that quacks when it detects motion. The Guardian Duck, we called it, it now roams our apartment and can be found in many surprising places quacking at you when you least expect it.
