Printable model of a Whitworth quick return mechanism. This is at the heart of mechanical metal shaping machines, and is fun to play with. Note that this model makes use of nylon shoulder bolts and heat set inserts, which are available from McMaster-Carr in the United States. McMaster part numbers are shown on the included drawing. If you are outside of the United States, use the included STEP file to redesign for components available in your country.
