Ordered some tl smoothers to test from Aliexpress, but while waiting for them to arrive, I thought that why not build one as I have the proper diodes. As it seemed to work for what I wanted (fixing DRV8825 jerky slow movements), I decided to make a box for it.

The circuit I used is from here: http://cabristor.blogspot.com/2015/02/drv8825-missing-steps.html?m=1

You'll need following items to build this:

  • 4 pin header
  • 8 1N5404 diodes
  • some wire
  • 4 M3 6mm screws

I printed mine with PolyMax PLA as I had it loaded on my printer and it seems to work fine. The diodes do get bit hot, so if there's no air circulation, it might be a good idea to use PETG or ABS.
